Routine helps the brain to function in a structured way, regulates sleep, appetite and helps in managing stress. By following small steps like sleeping and getting up at the same time, eating at regular intervals, planning work and leisure activities ahead, we can improve our general wellbeing.

Also, engaging in productive and fun activities helps in producing the dopamine (pleasure and the reward seeking chemical) in the body, helps in fighting the signs of depression.

Use simple informal mindfulness
The Five Senses

  • Seeing five things around you and open your awareness around your environment.
  • Four things that you can notice in your different parts of body.
  • Three sounds that you can hear from a near/distant source.
  • Notice two smells around you.
  • Notice the taste in the mouth of the last drink or meal you had.

Radical Acceptance is the power to accept reality no matter how haunting it may be. By doing so we help our mind to handle the emotional distress caused by the problem. Accepting does not mean we are stuck, but it is the first step towards change.
